This is a friendraiser, not a fundraiser
There is no ask at this event. No paddle, no pledge card, no auction.
We are spending one evening introducing True Beauty Discovery to people we think will care about it, and letting the work speak for itself. You will meet the people behind the programs, hear from young women who have been through them, and get a first look at where the organization is headed, including a rebrand we are in the middle of building.
If you leave wanting to stay connected, we will make that easy. If you leave having simply had a good evening, that is a fine outcome too.
What to expect
Two hours, a comfortable room, and a mocktail in your hand. You will see a short film from inside one of our programs and hear directly from young women who have come through them. You will take the Legends assessment yourself, the same one our girls take, and find out which of the seven is yours.
There will be a drawing for a few good prizes, and time to actually talk to people. Nothing you need to sit still for, and nothing to sign.

Every girl who comes through our programs discovers her Legend, an archetype from our 7 Legends™ framework that reflects the leadership traits she already holds, and becomes the language she uses for herself. On October 22, you get to find yours.

What to wear
Whatever you would wear to dinner with friends. This is a comfortable room.

If there is someone in your circle who should know about this work, bring them. Just add them when you register.

True Beauty Discovery is a girl-powered movement redefining beauty and building bold confidence from the inside out. We exist for every girl who has ever been told she is too much, too quiet, too different, or not enough.
Rooted in storytelling, mentorship, and identity discovery, TBD works with girls ages 11 to 19 across greater Cleveland: in residential treatment with Fostering Hope Ohio at Applewood, at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio, in Partnership Schools, and beginning this year in schools within the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Many of our participants come from under-resourced communities and are looking for a space of acceptance and affirmation.
Our programming runs on the 7 Legends™ framework, an identity model original to TBD, not adapted from any pre-existing system, and grounded in Social Identity Theory, Self-Determination Theory, and Critical Media Literacy. Through workshops, mentor circles, the Legendary Speaking Series, and IlluminateHER, girls learn that they do not have to become someone else to be powerful.
TBD doesn’t fix girls. We remind them they were never broken.
This is also the most significant year of organizational growth in our history: a newly seated governing board, rebuilt financial controls, added staff, and a full rebrand underway. truebeautydiscovery.org
